Sensitive skin is caused by a number of factors such as dehydration which results in the skin becoming extremely dry and itchy and irritated. Sensitive skin results in the skin feeling just uncomfortable in general and can result in breakouts and pimples. For some people, sensitive skin can happen just from time to time due to change in climate but for others, it becomes a proper skin type.
Hence using makeup becomes a tricky process as the makeup itself contains so many chemicals that trigger the skin even more. Let us see what all steps and care is required:
Formulation: one of the major tasks is to check the formulation before buying makeup. Make sure you go through the list of ingredients and chemicals specifically. They shouldn’t be too harsh other it will lead to more redness, rashes, and breakouts. Stay away from fragrance, parabens, and formaldehyde as they are the most crucial when it comes to skin irritation.
Once you are confident with the formulation and you have chosen the right ingredients then you are ready to apply makeup. Let us see how
Start off with a gentle cleanser on your face. For drier months I like to use something that is oil-based whereas for normal months use something gentler like micellar water or foam face wash. It is an important step to clean your face to get rid of any dirt and bacteria which may react with the chemicals.
Step 2: Start off with a moisturizer as the next step. A moisturizer can truly be a game-changer and forms a protective layer underneath all the harsh makeup.
Using sunscreen is again crucial as it provides protection to your sensitive skin from harmful rays of the sun or any sort of light. Go with SPF 15-50

Using fewer products will indeed be good for your skin and help it to breathe. Useless products that will eventually serve a multitasking purpose. For example: use a sunscreen that also does the job of a foundation and provides some sort of coverage. Or apply just concealer on the spots. That will also help as little product goes a long way.
Step 5: Apply all the things that are necessary. For example eyeliner, mascara, and lip tint. All of this will not harm your skin. Make sure you don’t use cheap products and then you are good to go.
Step 6: Keep your tools clean and fresh and away from any sort of bacteria. Always clean them with soap after usage and don’t forget to dry them off.
Step 7: Don’t forget to take off your makeup. Nothing worse than leftover makeup on your skin. Use a gentle makeup remover or micellar water. Healthy and glowing skin comes with aftercare. Wash off your makeup and later apply some moisturizer to protect it from all the chemicals you used and to rejuvenate it.
